Solid Foundations School (“SFS”) is a young K-12 Christian hybrid school offering both independent learning as well as in-class taught classes.
SFS is seeking a humble, competent, and dedicated Supervisor to run the Learning Centre. We are accepting resumes and applications for a Learning Centre Student Supervisor (a teaching position). The Learning Centre primarily utilizes Accelerated Christian Education’s individual-based curriculum which provides opportunities for each child to have an education plan tailored to their specific abilities and needs.
The Learning Center Supervisor is responsible to supervise the learning process in assigned areas of study for each student, and to instruct and perform related work as required. The Supervisor directs the students in completing their daily allotment of curriculum pages, and tutors them one-on-one when they are needing extra help with understanding the concepts that they are learning. The Supervisor’s goal is to provide a well-organized, smooth functioning classroom environment in which all students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.
This Supervisor will create a welcoming, kind, and calm classroom and be diligent in encouraging students to grow in wisdom and virtue through regular prayer and Bible reading, habit-training, loving correction, and maintaining high expectations for kindness, hard work, and good habits.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Experience interacting with students in a learning environment (preferred)
- Confident enthusiasm, natural creativity, and outstanding reliability.
- Good moral character and integrity.
- Strong Christian character, and nurturing lifestyle as documented by references.
- Ability to demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally through both verbal and written skills.
- Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings.
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and volunteers
- Demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations with appropriate boundaries.
