Thank you for your interest in learning more about Solid Foundations School, a private non-profit school located in Burgessville, ON!
Our doors opened for the first time in September 2024 to our students!
At Solid Foundations School, we envision a Christ centered educational community rooted in reformed doctrine where students are nurtured to receive and grow in faith, wisdom and character. We aspire to cultivate a learning environment that reflects the sovereignty of God, the grace of Christ and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit. In all these aspects we endeavor to glorify God, acknowledging our sinfulness and our complete reliance on His grace.
Solid Foundations School is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 board and parent run school that offers a unique hybrid education model. With a mix of independent learning environments as well as traditional in-class education, students benefit from learning to self-regulate and study at their own pace in subject areas of interest to them, while also being in a school setting with the benefits of social interaction among their peers and formal teaching and authority structures.
We believe that the most important things we can teach our children in school are Biblical knowledge, respect, work ethic, teamwork, goal setting, math and English – in that order. School needs to be a structured environment, but also must be enjoyable and fun for the kids allowing students to nurture and cultivate their God-given talents.
The unique hybrid system allows for an efficient use of time and a wide variety of education options.
Recognizing that students learn effectively in a variety of ways, a hybrid approach allows subjects like math and English to be learned independently while offering traditional taught classes for Bible, Science, and the Arts.
Kindergarten to Grade 2 students will be mostly in a traditional teaching environment, setting the foundation for future independent learning.
For Grade 3 and up, students will have a blend of independent learning and traditional in-class teaching.
